An update from the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) COVID-19 has posed a great challenge. Not only for those diagnosed with the virus, their friends & family, but for the healthcare providers, grocery store clerks, small businesses, restaurant owners and employees. To those essential workers and those doing their part to slow the spread of the virus – Thank You. Like most everyone in every city, the citizens of the Upstate have heeded the sound advice of the world’s medical experts and are practicing self-quarantine and safe distance practices. Similar to the opening of the 2020 baseball season, our Museum building move has also been delayed. We hope to be able to reopen, along with a fabulous new 837 square foot annex before the end of the summer, early fall. Everyone associated with our wonderful Museum is as anxious as you are for as quick a reopening as possible. It is, however, our social obligation to take the necessary actions to help slow the spread of the virus. We encourage you to do the same. This will eventually work itself clear but only with everyone’s commitment to follow medical guidelines will we come out of this as healthy as possible. During the past 6 months, Dan has completely revamped our Facebook page and has successfully introduced Instagram and Twitter to our social media (@shoelessmuseum) platform. Since our website will remain online and functioning, your gift shop orders will continue to be filled. Shipping normally occurs within 3 business days. Please know that since our Museum is currently closed, these orders are being filled offsite. During this time, we do NOT have personnel on-site to answer your phone calls (864.346.4867). But please leave a message and someone will get back to you as quickly as possible. Of course, you can always contact us via email (info@shoelessjoejackson.org). We will do our best to answer your questions in a timely manner and greatly appreciate your understanding and patience in these challenging times. Know this – We understand our role in these uncertain times. We certainly do not qualify as essential workers or providers. Our duty is to society and the great game of baseball. Our Museum is proud to keep the name and legacy of Shoeless Joe Jackson alive and strong. For now, however, our part is to stay home, stay healthy, and look ahead to the reopening of our Museum and the start-up of the great game of baseball.
